Theoretically, if you, the customer, agrees to pay Australia Post $9.95/quarter. And you live in the metropolitan areas of Brisbane. Sydney. Melbourne. And your online order is more then $25. And your p&H is $20 or less. You are guaranteed free postage. And same day delivery. By a participating merchant who is also located in the same metropolitan area as you are.
What Shipster Means For The Merchant
There is no such thing as ‘free postage’ from Australia Post.
Just so you know.
The participating merchants. Which to date are all large companies. Will still be billed the appropriate postage charge by Australia Post.
This service from Australia Post is taking from two hands. Your $9.95/quarter. And the merchant who is billed the cost for your parcel to be delivered by Australia Post.
Make no mistake. Every participating merchant will be looking to recover that charge by increasing their prices.
